• My country is not in the registration list?
Currently you can only register from countries that are in the list on the registration page. ConnectMeAnywhere plans to support many more countries in the future and you should check back regularly. Alternatively fill out our Support form here and let us know your country - this will help to let us know where we should focus our service.
• Why are cities in the country registration list?
If there is not a flat rate to call a local number we supply local city numbers so you do not have to make an inter-city call. For example: In the UK you can call a UK number for the same cost from anywhere in the UK. However in Australia you cannot, a local call is limited to the city you are calling from. So the cost to call a local Sydney number would be higher if you called from Melbourne. If your city is not on the country list for registration and your country charges inter-city rates then please let us know by sending a message via our support form here
• It says my phone number is already in use, what does this mean?
This means that someone has registered this phone number for an account or added this number to their list of numbers they can call from.
If you are trying to register a home or work number make sure someone hasn’t already registered it. Alternative your company can apply for a corporate account that will allow the same phone number to be used by multiple people. To find out more about a corporate account please send an email to corporate@connectmeanywhere.com
Only people calling from this number are able to make a call so unless they have the phone that the number belongs
to they will not be able to make a call.
There is no way that this phone can be billed in any way. The account buys credit and this is not tied to your
service provider or telephone.
If you believe that someone has misused your phone number please fill out the support form and we will look into the issue.
• Why do I have to sign up for your services?
You have to register your phone number for the ConnectMeAnywhere service to work. Also we are not connected to your phone service provider and we cannot bill directly to your phone bill.
• How soon after signing up can I begin using the service?
Your account will be activated immediately after registration and you will receive .25 free credit in your account to test the service.
• Can I use the service from a phone that is not pre-registered?
No, you can register up to 10 phones on your account but you cannot call from a non-registered number. You can add more phones to call from on the profile page in your account. ConnectMeAnywhere plans to allow non-registered phones to make calls in the future and this will be based upon a pin/password system.
• Can I register with my landline number?
Yes you can. Instead of entering your mobile number on the registration page enter your landline number instead. You can add more phones to call from on the profile page in your account. You can add up to 10 phones, for example your mobile, your home phone, your work phone and more. You must have a touch-tone phone to use the service (you need a phone with keys not a dialing ring).
• Can I register with my Blackberry?
Yes you can. ConnectMeAnywhere is great news for Blackberry owners. As an owner you will know that it is difficult to use VoIP applications due to the OS but with our service you do not have to download or install anything so its as easy as making a call! However to call your address book you need to input the first 3-8 letters of your contact's name so you will need a standard phone keypad.
Making a Calling (back to top)
• What type of phone do I need?
You can use ConnectMeAnywhere with any touch-tone phone – mobile or landline – that can make a local phone call. You do not need to have any special phone or a softphone. You do not need to download anything to your phone or to your computer. You can also use ConnectMeAnywhere on your Blackberry or PDA phone however you must have a standard DTMF keypad or be able to input the standard (Blackberry users can press the ALT key).
• I have a Blackberry, how do I enter characters on a qwerty keyboard?
While spelling the name of your contact on your keyboard you will need to hold down the ALT key.
• What is the One Number?
The One Number is a local phone number in your country that you phone to access your account. Phone the One Number to call anyone in your directory, send a V-Mail to a contact or group or make a call using Dial2Cal.
• Can I make a call on my mobile while travelling overseas?
Yes the ConnectMeAnywhere service will work but if your provider charges you roaming cost then you will have to pay this cost on your phone. Please check with your provider to see the charges you incur using your mobile overseas. An alternative is to add a phone number in the country you are travelling to (hotel, friend, temporary mobile) on your profile page or by calling your One Number.
• My phone is blocked for calling internationally, can I still use the service?
Yes even if your phone is not enabled for international calls you can still use ConnectMeAnywhere to make international & national calls. As long as your phone can call a local number you can use the service.
• How do I make a call when I am visiting another country?
Just call the local One Number in the country you are visiting and use the service exactly the same way you do from home, we will do the rest. You can find the local One Number for all countries in your account - top right box - select the drop down menu and choose the country you are in. This is show you the One Number and Speed Dial numbers to call from that country.
• How do I use Voice activation dialling?
Call your local One Number and when it is answered press the * (star) key on your phone's keypad. Then just say the name (display) of the contact from your directory to want to call. For example: John Smith. ConnectMeAnywhere will search your directory and connect you to John Smith's default number. If you want to call your contact on another number that is not their default number you can say, Example: John Smith on home phone. You can also say the word "call" before the name, Example: Call John Smith on mobile phone.
If the voice recognition software is unable to recognise your contacts name (for example if you are in a noisy area) then you can still key-in the 1st 3-8 letters of your contacts name (see below).
• How do I enter character on my phone?
Your phones keypad will have letters on each number button. For example the button 2 has ABC, 3 has DEF etc. To enter the first 3-8 characters or letters of your contacts name just press the key that corresponds to the letter. Example: BOB - press 2, 6, 2. ConnectMeAnywhere's system will do the rest of the work and find your contact.
Blackberry users with a Qwerty keyboard will need to press the ALT button.
• How do I call a number not in my Speed Dial or Directory?
You can call a number using theDial2Call service, this is similar to a calling card where you have to input the number you wish to call with the country code. Just phone your "One Number" and press 1 to use Dial2Call. You must then enter the full number you wish to call (country and area codes must be included). For example to call a number in Sydney Australia I would key-in: 612987654321
• Can I call from a landline or payphone?
Yes you can. ConnectMeAnywhere allows you to add up to 10 other phone numbers (mobile or landline) that you can call from. You can add these numbers on the profile page in your account or by calling your One Number. Calling from any of the numbers connected to your account will allow you to use the service.
A phone number can only be registered once on our system so if you enter a work number (for example) that is shared by other people they will not be able to register with this number.
If you are a company you can register for a Corporate Membership to work around this. Please send an email to corporate@connectmeanywhere.com to contact us about corporate services. As a corporate client you will assigned your own customer agent who will set up your account for you.
• Can I make domestic calls as well as international?
Yes you can. In fact using ConnectMeAnywhere to call people on different mobile providers is often cheaper than calling them directly. Click here to view rates.
• How do find the country dialing code for the country I want to call?
You can find a full list of country dialing codes here. However if you enter the number in your Speed Dial table or Contact List then ConnectMeAnywhere will automatically enter the country code for you. You only need to know the country code if you are using the Dial2Call service.
• How do I know how long I have to make a call?
ConnectMeAnywhere will let you know how many minutes you have available for the call. For example: You have 523 minutes for this call. This is based on the amount of credit you have in your account and the rate to connect to the country you are calling to. Any unused credit will be available in your account after the call has finished.
• When I use Dial2Call do I have to enter the country code?
Yes, you must enter the full number of the person you wish to call with the country code and area code (if applicable). For example: Calling Sydney Australia - key in - 61 (Australia country code) 2 (Sydney area code) 98765432 (phone number) = 61 2 98765432. Dial2Call is similar to a calling card so you must enter the country code and any area or city codes.
Receiving a Call (Call-ME Numbers) (back to top)
• What is a Call-ME Number?
A Call-ME Number is a dedicated local (home) number that you purchase and give out to your family, friends and colleagues. When they call your Call-ME Number we will route the local call to where-ever you are in the world. If you do not answered or have your phones set to OFF - NO RING then they can leave you a voice message which will be emailed to your registered email address.
• What countries can I purchase a Call-ME Number in?
You can purchase a number in over 35 countries. For the full list please visit the rates page here.
• Can people still ring me if they have blocked international calling?
Yes they can. People calling your Call-ME Number only need to dial a local number in their country so international dialling is not required.
• Do people have to add international dialling codes to ring me?
No, they just call your Call-ME Number, this is a local number in the country you purchased the number in.
• Can I add my home phone even though I am living overseas?
Yes you can add phones in any country to your account. However you should not have a phone turned on (set to ring) that you cannot answer. If you add a phone in your home country and set to ON - RING then when someone calls your Call-ME Number this phone will ring.
• How do I listen to my voice messages?
Your voice messages will be sent via email to your registered email account. Open the attached MP3 file in the email to hear the message. You can also listen and view your voice messages from your ConnectMeAnywhere account. They are available on the history page in your account.
• Who pays for the call to my Call-ME Number?
Who-ever rings your Call-ME Number pays for the local part of the call. For example: if you buy a Call-ME Number in London 0207------- then the person phoning his number pays to connect, the cost is dependant upon the caller's telecoms provider but this is a local landline number and not a premium rated number. They will only pay the same price to call any other 0207 number.
You pay for the international part of the call. For example: if someone phones your 0207 number and it forwards to your mobile in Singapore then you will pay 1.2 euro cents per minute to connect to Singapore.
• Why do I have to pay a monthly rental?
When you buy a Call-ME Number you must pay a monthly line rental for the dedicated number. You can check the cost of this payment on the rates page here. The cost per month starts from as little as €1.
Conference Calling (back to top)
• What is a Conference Number?
A Conference Number is a dedicated (this number is not shared) local number that you use for phone meetings. You set up conference rooms, set up a PIN code and then get people to call in. You only pay 5 euro cents per minute per person in the call.
• What countries can I purchase a Conference Number in?
You can purchase a number in over 35 countries. For the full list please visit the rates page here.
• Why do I have to set up a PIN code?
You need to set a PIN code for security. People calling into your conference room will be prompted to input this PIN code to join. This ensures only the people you have given the PIN code to are able to join the conference. Even though your conference number is dedicated just to you (it is not a shared number) anyone you have given your conference number to will be able to call in if you do not set a PIN code.
• How often should I change my PIN code?
We suggest you change the PIN code after every conference and set up a new PIN code. This way only the people who are meant to be in the meeting are able to join. If the same people are always in the conference you may prefer to leave the PIN code the same.
• Can I purchase multiple conference numbers?
Yes you can purchase as many conference numbers as you want. This is a good way for people to call in locally from around the world.
• Can I have multiple conference numbers call into the same room?
Yes you can. This is a great way to have people worldwide call in via a local number in their country. For example: you can purchase a conference number in New York, London and Singapore. People in each of these cities simply call into their local number and connect to the same conference room.
• Who pays for the call to my Conference Number?
Who-ever rings your Conference Number pays to connect to that number. For example: if you buy a Conference Number in London 0207------- then the person phoning his number pays to connect, the cost is dependant upon the caller's telecoms provider but is a local landline number and not a premium rated number. They will only pay the same price to call any other 0207 number.
You pay 5 euro cents per minute for each person in the call. For example: if you have 5 people in a call for 10 minutes the total cost of the conference call would be €;2.50.
• Why do I have to pay a monthly rental?
When you buy a Conference Number you must pay a monthly line rental for the dedicated number. You can check the cost of this payment on the rates page here. The cost per month starts from as little as €1.
V-Mail (Voice Email) (back to top)
• What is V-Mail?
V-Mail is a FREE service from ConnectMeAnywhere that allows you to send voice emails from your phone (mobile or landline).
• How do I use V-Mail?
You can send a V-Mail in 2 ways:
1. Add a contact to your Speed Dial and set the preferred contact method to email address. ConnectMeAnywhere will allocate a local calling number for your contact's email address. Calling the local Speed Dial number will connect you to our voice recording service. You can record a message which will be sent as an MP3 in an email to your contact's email address. This is a great way to send emails from any phone, no typing needed. You can also create Groups of email addresses so that your one message is emailed to all. See your Groups page in your account for more details.
2. Phone your One Number and select the contact you wish to send the V-Mail to. If you have set your contacts email address as the preferred method of contact you will be transferred to the V-Mail recording service. If you have a phone number as the preferred method of contact just press E or 3 on your keypad and you will be transferred to the V-Mail recording service.
• Can I enter my own email address?
Of course you can, in fact this is a great way to send yourself reminders and notes. Use the service as a Dictaphone to record meetings or special occasions.
• My phone does not send emails, can I still use V-Mail?
Yes you can. V-Mail works with any phone - mobiles and landlines. If you can phone a local number then you can use the V-Mail service. You do not need to download or log-in to anything. So you can send an email from your home phone!
• How do I send a V-Mail to a group of contacts?
Create a group on the "Groups" page in your account. This allows you to add people from your contact list to a group. For example: I have added Ryan, Paul, Dan and Mark to a group I have named "Work Team". I can now assign "Work Team" its own Speed Dial Number or I can phone my One Number and select my group by entering WORK# (9675#) on my keypad. I will be transferred to the V-Mail recording service where my voice email will be sent to everyone in my group as an MP3 attached to an email.

Countries have different rates; you can check the rates for the country you would like to call here on the Calling Rates page. All rates are what you will pay per minute. You can also find more information about our pricing here
• Does this get around roaming charges?
No. ConnectMeAnywhere does not have a relationship with your mobile phone provider and if they charge you roaming costs when you are outside your registered country then this is cost you have to pay to your provider. You can add local phones in the country you are visiting on the profile page in your account.
• What are the costs of a Call-ME Number?
To purchase your own dedicated Call-ME Number you must pay a monthly telecoms line rental, this is a low-cost price dependant upon the country you purchase your Call-ME Number in. You will then have to pay for the international rate per minute when someone phones your Call-ME Number. Check prices here.
• Do I have to pay to use V-Mail?
V-Mail is a FREE service from ConnectMeAnywhere. We do not charge you to use this service. You will have to pay to call the local number on your phone, the cost of calling the local number in your country is dependant upon your provider. Please check with your provider to see if you have FREE local calls or the cost to call a local number.
• Why can't I pay in my local currency?
We are not able to take payment in some currencies due to limitations with PayPal and Credit card transactions. You can purchase credit in Pounds, US dollars, Euros, Australian dollars & Canadian dollars. Other countries will be tied to one of these currencies.
• How do I get credit to make calls?
You can purchase credit in your online account; after you log in just click the Purchase tab to be taken to the credit page. You can buy a one-off payment or set up a subscription to top-up your account weekly or monthly.

This happens very rarely but if your credit is not in your account within a day please contact us and we will help resolve the issue. You can contact us by using the support form here
• Are there any administration, subscription or other fees?
No, registering for an account with ConnectMeAnywhere is free. The advertised price includes all taxes & VAT plus the costs for the international part of the call. • Does my credit expire?
Yes. Your credit is valid for a period of six (6) months from the date of your last purchase. So if you top up within 6 months then your expiry date will be reset to 6 months. You can see the date your credit will expire on your Credit page in your account. See more information about pricing and creditshere
• How do I know how much credit I have left?
You can check online in your account, your credit page will have the amount credit still available to for you to use. Alternatively when you make a phone call using ConnectMeAnywhere you will be told how much time is available for the call before you are connected.
• Do I have to pay to connect to the local number?
Yes. You must pay the charges to connect to the local number in your country. Often local calls are free or low-cost but if you do not know how much your mobile or telecoms provider charges you to connect to a local number you should find out. If you have free bundled minutes in your plan then the cost to the local number is free - all you pay then is the charge per minute to ConnectMeAnywhere. For example: to call Australia on a mobile with free bundled minutes from the UK is 3.1p per minute (that is all you will pay). If your provider charges you to connect to the local number, for example 1.5p per minute then you would pay 1.5p + 3.1p = 4.6p per minute to Australia. We have no connection to your provider and this local call charge does not go to ConnectMeAnywhere.
• Can I set up my account to be automatically recharged?
Yes you can set up recurring credit to top up your account weekly or monthly. Please see the Purchase page in your account.

General Questions (back to top)
• How are you better than a Calling Card from a shop?
You may find someCalling Cards give you rates comparative with ConnectMeAnywhere but often make you ring an expensive premium number to connect to their service. The rate they advertise is the rate they connect you after you pay for premium number connection. Click here to learn more about premium rated numbers. With ConnectMeAnywhere you only pay to connect to a local number. If you have a contract with your phone provider it is likely that you have free inclusive minutes to national landlines. If you use a pre-pay SIM then you will simply pay for the local charge plus the ConnectMeAnywhere rate per minute which will still enable huge savings. Calling cards sometimes make you pay a connection fee or have a daily service fee also, ConnectMeAnywhere does not charge any fees or charges.
• Isn’t VOIP cheaper?
You may find cheaper rates from online VOIP companies. However they only connect you from a computer that is installed with their software and you must have a microphone/softphone attached to the computer. Also check the VoIP providers rates to see if they include tax in their prices - Skype for example add tax after so this puts up the real price you are paying. ConnectMeAnywhere's rates are inclusive of all taxes.
With ConnectMeAnywhere you can call from your own phone, you don’t have to log into your account; you don’t have to install any software or buy any hardware. You will find that ConnectMeAnywhere is cheaper than phoning directly on your own phone and you have the convenience to phone when and where you like.
• Can I use ConnectMeAnywhere no matter who my mobile or phone provider is?
Yes. We not have a relationship with your provider; we are totally independent of mobile & telecoms providers.
• What is the time in the country I want to call?
You can check the World Clock and use the Time Zone Converterhere so you don't call anyone at an inappropriate hour.
• Why is the call quality different to some countries?
This depends on the telephone infrastructure of the country you are calling. Some countries often have poor quality and it is not the ConnectMeAnywhere service that is the problem. You would get the same quality calling directly from a landline. ConnectMeAnywhere prides itself on its high call quality and believe the connections are equal to that of a telecoms provider.
• How do I contact customer services?
In order to keep our prices so low, we have opted not to have an expensive call centre. Please use our help/enquiry form on our support page and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Clickhere to view the form.If you are interested in a Corporate Account please emailcorporate@connectmeanywhere.com
